Compare Z Line and QD Line models

Dejavoo's Linux Z Line covers simple, dedicated terminals. The Android QD Line adds larger touchscreens and apps. Where Dejavoo's published specs disagree, we leave the value out and point you to the spec sheet.

Which terminal is right for me?

Three questions about how you take payments. You'll get two or three models to look at, and you can talk them through with us.

Answer three questions and we'll suggest models to look at. Your answers stay on this page.

1. Where do you take payments?
2. Do you need printed receipts?
3. How will it work with your business?

Suggestions appear here once all three questions are answered.

Hardware services

A terminal is only useful once it's set up for your account. These are the services around the hardware itself.

  • To be confirmed

    Programming and setup

We load your merchant account, tax and tip settings onto the terminal so it's ready to take payments when it arrives.

  • To be confirmed

    Encryption key injection

Terminals need encryption keys loaded for your processor. The keys protect card data and allow PIN debit. We arrange this before the device ships.

  • To be confirmed

    Replacement and swaps

If a terminal fails, we help you get a working replacement and move your settings across so downtime is short.

  • To be confirmed

    Ongoing terminal support

Call us for help with settings, batches, receipts and error messages. Some Dejavoo terminals can also send our support team an email from the device.

  • Receipt paper and supplies

Order paper rolls and supplies through our contact form or by phone, so you don't run out mid-shift.

Equipment questions

Can I keep the terminal I have now?

Sometimes. Many terminals can be reprogrammed for a new account if the model is still supported and isn't locked to another provider. Tell us the make and model and we'll check before you commit to anything.

What's the difference between Android and Linux terminals?

Dejavoo's Android terminals (the P Line and QD Line) have larger touchscreens and can run apps. The Linux Z Line models are simpler, dedicated card terminals. Both accept chip, tap and swipe payments; the right choice depends on how you check customers out.

Do these terminals accept Apple Pay and Google Pay?

The Dejavoo models listed here accept contactless payments, and Dejavoo lists support for Apple Pay, Google Wallet and Samsung Pay on them. Clover devices also accept contactless payments.

What is a PIN pad, and do I need one?

A PIN pad is a small customer-facing device where the customer taps, inserts or swipes their card and enters a PIN. It usually sits next to a countertop terminal or connects to point-of-sale software. You need one if you want customers to handle their own card at the counter.

How much does a terminal cost?

It depends on the model and how you set up your account. We quote the equipment together with your processing rates so you can see the full cost in one place. [PLACEHOLDER: Confirm whether terminals are sold, leased or included with some programs]

Who do I call if my terminal stops working?

Call us at 1-888-365-8876. We'll troubleshoot with you on the phone and, if the device has failed, go through your replacement options.
