TurnKey Payments

Payment processing for automotive dealerships

Dealerships take very different payments under one roof: down payments in sales, repair orders in service, counter sales in parts. We set up terminals and accounts for each department and explain how large tickets are priced before you sign. [PLACEHOLDER: Confirm the dealership experience TurnKey wants to state]

Who it's for

Franchise and independent dealers, and the service and parts businesses around them.

  • Franchise and independent car dealerships
  • Service departments and independent repair shops
  • Parts counters and accessory sales
  • Used car, RV, boat and powersports dealers

How it works

  1. Step 1

    Map your departments

We look at how each department takes payments today and where the larger transactions happen.

  2. Step 2

    Set up accounts and terminals

Each department can have its own terminals and reporting, so deposits are easy to match.

  3. Step 3

    Review pricing on large tickets

Card fees on a large down payment add up. We show you how your rate structure handles high-ticket sales and whether a card fee program fits.

  4. Step 4

    Train staff and go live

We walk each department through sales, refunds and closing out the day.

Pricing for dealerships

Dealership pricing depends on volume, average ticket and the mix between departments, so we quote each dealership individually. [PLACEHOLDER: Dealership pricing approach]

  • A written quote covering every account
  • Reporting by department [PLACEHOLDER: Confirm department-level reporting is available]
  • Pay Net Zero option for service and parts

  • A voided business check or a letter from your bank
  • Three to six months of business bank statements
  • Three to six months of processing statements, if you take cards today
  • Your business license and federal tax ID (EIN)

Questions we hear

The questions merchants ask us most. Ask us anything else on a call.

Can customers make a down payment by card?

Yes, if your dealership allows it. Some dealers cap how much they accept by card because fees on large amounts add up. We'll show you what a down payment costs to accept under your pricing.

Can each department have its own account?

Yes. Separate accounts or terminal IDs for sales, service and parts make it easier to match deposits to each department.

Do you connect to dealership management systems?

[PLACEHOLDER: Confirm DMS integrations, if any]. Tell us which system you use and we'll check what's possible.

Can I add a card fee to service invoices?

In many states, yes, with a surcharge program. Notice rules and fee caps apply, and debit cards can't be surcharged. Our Pay Net Zero page explains how it works.

What if a customer disputes a large charge?

We help you respond to the chargeback with the documents card networks ask for, such as signed repair orders and sales agreements. [PLACEHOLDER: Confirm the chargeback support TurnKey provides]
